Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for The Diller Center

The Helen Diller Center for Veterans of U.S. Military Service Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Join us as we officially inaugurate and open The Helen Diller Center for Veterans of U.S. Military Service at Golden Gate University through a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony. This milestone event marks the commencement of a new phase dedicated to supporting and empowering our military community.

Date: February 7, 2024, at Noon
Hosted by: David Fike, PhD, GGU President
Co-host: Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Jason Dempsey, PhD, Diller Center Director
Location: The Helen Diller Center at Golden Gate University, 536 Mission St., San Francisco, CA 94105

Military-affiliated students and alumni are encouraged to attend, but seats are limited, and RSVPs are required. For more information and to inquire about seat availability, email Marlena Blackman at mablackman@ggu.edu.

Over the last three years, the Helen Diller Center has become an essential part of campus life at GGU.

During our virtual center launch events back in March of 2021, we had the honor of hosting a discussion with the late Richard Rosenberg, Phyllis Cook, and David Fike to discuss the vision for the Diller Center at GGU.

The Helen Diller Center for Veterans of U.S. Military Service at Golden Gate University was launched in 2020 with a generous $2M grant from The Helen Diller Family Foundation. This pioneering initiative takes a comprehensive approach to supporting military-connected students by fostering academic, social, and career achievements for military veterans, active-duty service members and their families.

The center was established in honor of distinguished GGU alum, retired chairman and CEO of Bank of America, and former commander in the US Naval Reserve, Richard Rosenberg — MBA '63, JD '66, LLD '88. We take this opportunity to recognize and applaud his lifetime accomplishments and express deep gratitude for his invaluable support in furthering the mission of Golden Gate University

Established in 1999, the Helen Diller Family Foundation supports education, science and the arts in the Bay Area and Israel. The Diller family also sponsors the Diller Family Educator Award for Excellence in Education, which recognizes top educators. Additionally, the family funds global programs for teens, including its Diller Teen Fellows program, which is affiliated with the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund of San Francisco.
